Instruments Newton Industrial has been developing and manufacturing instruments since 1969. Its original instrument, developed in conjunction with Unilever, was a high volume air sampler called the Newton Air Sampler. This is a development of the instrument used throughout the world to monitor the level of enzymes and other dust born particulates in detergent and other manufacturing facilities. It is also extensively used in enzyme production and has been used for monitoring other air-born hazards in a factory environment. As with all our instruments the Air sampler has undergone many improvements since its first launch. It now incorporates the latest air flow measurement techniques and digital processing in order to provide the operator with highly accurate results from an instrument that is both easy and reliable to use. |

The concept of continual improvement has been extended to the Newton Carton Tester. The instruments measures crease strength and friction of cartons. It has been used by carton manufacturers and packaging companies for over 20 years. Recently it was re-developed to incorporate computer integration. All results are stored on a computer which allows for extensive analysis which results in manufacturers working to consistent quality levels. |

Newton has released its brand new portable carton tester. This has all the features of the lab based model but, as it is battery powered, you can take the instrument to the carton in a warehouse or factory for instance.
As cartons have often to be cut down for crease strength measurement, the portable carton tester calculates the crease strength per metre of crease. This enables the strength of creases to be compared independently of their length. We believe that this is a first in the industry.
