Gravity Aerator

The Newton Gravity Aerator is a means of efficiently oxygenating liquids. Gravity is the driving force of this aeration process. The design of the patented Gravity Aerator reduces energy requirements by 50%, compared to current aerators. Capital cost of the equipment is also much lower than current aerators. It also reduces maintenance to a minimum.

The design is based on extensive research by a team of scientists led by Dr.Claude Dyson, at John Moores University, Liverpool. International patents are being sought for this radical technology.

The Gravity Aerator has been tested in reputed organisations, such as United Utilities. Tests show that the Gravity Aerator will have a positive impact on the water industries, fish farming and mining.

Applications for the Newton Gravity Aerator

The Newton Gravity Aerator is unique in that it can be used for many different purposes. It is the only aerator that combines the facility to:

  • mix various gases (Air + Oxygen + Nitrogen) with both Clean Water and Waste Water
  • operate efficiently at any depth from 0.5m to 30m

Thus it can be used effectively to treat waste water for utilities and manufacturing/process companies. This involves treating waste water that is usually stored in tanks or aeration lanes at depths between 2m and 10m. Energy efficiency and simple maintenance are usually the key features that are attractive to these industries.

A similar application is the treatment of minewater that flows from disused mines. Here the oxygen is used to convert the minewater’s dissolved iron into ochre so that it can be extracted prior to clean water being discharged into the river.

A very different application is the injection of oxygen into water for fish farms. Water is passed through an oxygen atmosphere and the super-saturated water is released directly into the fish tank. The injector operates efficiently with water depths of as little as 0.8m.
