Newton Instruments was awarded the ISO 9001 quality standard in 1994 for the quality of its work and systems. This was updated in 2003 to the ISO 9001:2000 standard as our systems developed to meet the changing needs of our customers.

In 2003 the DTI selected the aerator for a Smart grant for the development and testing of a prototype aerator.

Following the success of this project, the DTI approved a R & D grant in 2004 so that Newton could build and test a pre-production aerator. Only products with a high level of innovation and potential for commercial success are grant supported.
