Results and Analysis - Trend Analysis

Dies are used to impress creases into cartons.  Over time and heavy usage, the performance of the dies change which results in subtle changes to the impressed crease.

This change in performance can be measured by examining the peak torque for the same carton type and crease over  time.  Using the Newton Carton Tester you can see this change graphically.

This graph shows the crease strength has increased over time, probably caused by the wearing of the die.  The chart shows the trend line of the results and the specified minimum and maximum values.

It is therefore easy to determine when a die should be changed so that the creases remain within specification whilst at the same time reducing die changes and their associated costs.

By carefully monitoring trends in crease performance offers a number of significant benefits:
